Frequently Asked Questions
Commissioning Original Artwork
-
I create original paintings and mixed-media works for private collectors, hospitality spaces, and brands looking for something unmistakably one-of-one. If it’s an unusual request—overscale canvas, layered materials, site-specific installation—send it over. The special ones are worth doing right.
-
Use the contact form and include your ideal size (or range), timeline, where the piece will live, and your budget range. If you have inspiration images, share 3–5. If you don’t, just tell me what you want the work to feel like.
-
Yes. Once I have your basics, we’ll schedule a short consult to confirm scope, placement, palette direction, and the level of custom detail you want.
-
Dimensions, deadline, budget range, installation environment (home, office, outdoors), preferred palette/mood, and any must-haves or hard no’s. A photo of the wall and surrounding décor helps, too.
-
Absolutely. References are welcome for direction. I don’t replicate other artists’ work, but I can translate a vibe, color, rhythm, atmosphere, into a piece that’s entirely original and unmistakably mine.
-
Sometimes, when the request fits my visual language and you’re open to interpretation rather than strict photorealism. If you want a soulful, Tindel version then send the photos and let’s talk.
-
Pricing is based on size, complexity, materials, timeline, and any licensing needs. If you share your budget range, I’ll propose the best options within it, clean, clear, and no guesswork.
-
Yes. A deposit reserves your place in the studio schedule and covers planning and materials. The remaining balance is due prior to shipment/delivery (or at installation).
-
Timelines vary by scale and studio queue. If you have a firm deadline, an unveiling, a move-in date, a grand opening, say so up front and I’ll advise what’s realistic.
-
When the calendar allows. Rush work comes with a premium to protect the process and ensure the finish is still museum-level.
-
Inquiry → consult → written quote + timeline → deposit → concept direction → production → final approval → balance payment → delivery/installation.
-
Revisions apply to the early direction phase and usually include at least two rounds—palette, composition, mood. Once the piece is in full build, changes are limited by design; this work is layered and intentional.
-
It will honor the approved direction, but the final magic happens in the layers of texture, energy, and nuance that can’t be faked. It will look better.
-
The collector owns the physical artwork. Copyright remains with the artist unless transferred by written agreement. If you need reproduction rights, we’ll handle licensing cleanly.
-
Yes, with a licensing agreement that covers scope, duration, territory, and intended usage. Bring your plan and I’ll quote it properly.
-
Absolutely. If confidentiality matters, we can work under NDA and keep the project off socials.
-
Deposits are typically non-refundable because they reserve time and materials. If a project is paused or canceled after work begins, costs are handled based on progress completed.
Murals & Large-Scale Signature Work
-
Yes! Interior and exterior murals for hospitality, commercial spaces, and landmark environments. The goal is not just a wall but a landmark.
-
Wall dimensions, surface type, location, site photos/video, access (ladders/lift), timeline, and any brand standards or messaging.
-
Yes. Concepting can be a separate phase, including mood boards, sketches, and a final layout for approvals.
-
Depending on the surface and schedule, I can handle prep or coordinate with a contractor. Proper prep is the difference between “pretty” and “built to last.”
-
Sometimes. Property approval and permitting are typically the client’s responsibility, but I’ll guide you on what to check.
-
Yes. Travel and lodging are quoted into the project so everything stays straightforward.
-
It depends on size, complexity, access, and surface conditions. A clean site and proper prep keep production smooth and on schedule. General timeframe for murals is 2 weeks to complete.
-
Yes! Especially for exterior or high-traffic installations. Topcoats can improve longevity and control glare under bright lighting. Topcoats will depend on surface type.
Special Projects, Collaborations & Commercial Licensing
-
Anything custom beyond a standard commission → brand collaborations, experiential installations, corporate environments, campaign artwork, product art, or a series designed for a specific space.
-
Yes. Licensing is available for editorial, packaging, campaigns, merchandise, digital, and interior brand environments.
-
Yes. I can produce single statement pieces or a coordinated series with a consistent palette and pacing across multiple rooms.
-
Often. I’m comfortable with professional workflows: approvals, specifications, deadlines, and multi-stakeholder reviews.
-
Selectively. If you’re building an experience, and you want guests to remember it, I’m open to it. Share the venue details and your goals.
